Low Rise 6 is part of a welcoming residential neighborhood on North Campus, where students can enjoy both the energy of the broader Cornell community and the comfort of a close-knit living environment.
The building's thoughtfully designed common spaces, including a main lounge, study room, and kitchen, encourage everyday interaction and community building. Residents gather to share meals, study together, participate in programs hosted by residential staff and faculty members in residence, watch films, enjoy informal conversations, and build lasting friendships. These shared experiences help students develop a sense of belonging while balancing social engagement with academic success.

- There are communal bathrooms shared by a varying number of residents of the area.

- Each unit has a study room, social lounge and kitchen.
- Single and double bedrooms contain, for each occupant: an extra-long twin bed, a closet and a dresser, a desk and desk chair, and a wastebasket
- Triple and quad bedrooms contain, for each occupant: an extra-long twin bed (lofted and bunked), a space-saving wardrobe/dresser combination, a desk and desk chair, a desk lamp, a wastebasket, and floor carpeting; visit our website for information on furniture configurations and bed elevations.

Low Rise 6 rooms do not have air conditioning, but the main lounge does have air conditioning.

Faculty Involvement
Stephanie Thomas, Senior Lecturer in Economics, is the Faculty-in-Residence for the Low Rises. She lives in an apartment in Low Rise 6 and regularly spends time with residents of the Low Rise community.
The Low Rises also have a number of Faculty and Community Fellows that provide students with opportunities to explore and cultivate their academic, intellectual, and cultural interests. You will find them attending events in your building, eating with students in the dining room, and leading on and off campus trips to lectures, plays, films, concerts, and regional points of interest.
