George Jameson Hall offers students a vibrant North Campus experience in the heart of Cornell's residential community. Located just steps from the Robert Purcell Community Center and Morrison Dining, Jameson is an excellent fit for students who enjoy an active, social environment, value connection and exploration, and want to fully engage in the undergraduate experience while building friendships and discovering new interests.

Jameson Hall's building design creates opportunities for both community and independence. Multi-bedroom groups are organized around shared lounges and kitchens on each floor, encouraging residents to connect, collaborate, and build relationships with their neighbors. The building is also known for its top-floor Skylounge, which offers sweeping views of North Campus, the Cornell golf course, and Fuertes Observatory, providing a memorable space for studying, relaxing, and socializing.

More About Jameson Hall

Opened in 1971 as High Rise I, the building was renamed in 1996 to honor George S. Jameson '26, a dedicated Cornell benefactor whose decades of philanthropic support strengthened the university and its students.

Living in Jameson Hall gives students the opportunity to become part of a diverse and dynamic residential community while developing meaningful connections with peers from across campus. Faculty Involvement

High Rise 5 and Jameson Hall have a number of Faculty and Community Fellows that provide students with opportunities to explore and cultivate their academic, intellectual, and cultural interests. You will find them attending events in your building, eating with students in the dining room, and leading on and off campus trips to lectures, plays, films, concerts, and regional points of interest.
