Early Arrival - West Campus
Early arrival must be requested and approved in advance. Only pre-approved requests are allowed to move in early. To request an early arrival, submit a request through the Housing and Dining Portal in your 2026-27 Academic Year application.
Please read this entire message carefully before making final travel arrangements. Following the instructions below and arriving at your designated time will help ensure a smooth and efficient move-in process.
Notes for early arrival residents:
- You and your guests will be responsible for unloading and moving your belongings to your room.
- West Campus House System on-call and lockout support begin at 4pm on Friday, August 7, 2026, when the House Offices close. Urgent crisis support is available 24/7 by calling Cornell Police Dispatch at 607-255-1111.

Arrival and Move-In Instructions
August 7-16, 2026: Mon-Fri, 9:00am – 4:00pm
Proceed to your West Campus House Office to check in and obtain your key and Cornell ID (if applicable). Each West Campus House has a House Office located in the lobby of the main building.
After-Hours and Weekend Arrival and Move-In Instructions
If arriving after the House Offices are closed, you will need to call the Graduate Residence Fellow (GRF) on-call number located on your West Campus House main doors for assistance with checking-in.
You will be able to temporarily park to unload in the areas listed below. The staff member on call will assist you with checking in. Please know that you and your guests will be responsible for unloading and moving your belongings to your room.
If You Cannot Call Within the United States
If you do not have a phone that can call within the United States, you can reach your GRF by using a Blue Light Emergency Phone located near your residence hall. Press the button to be connected to Campus Police. Let them know which hall you are trying to get into, and they will call your GRF for you.
Vehicle Unloading and Parking: West Campus
To help manage move-in traffic, designated unloading areas are available throughout West Campus. Please use only the designated unloading locations and do not drive on pedestrian walkways unless specifically designated as an unloading route.
Move-in bins and carts will be available at House Offices on a first-come, first-served basis.
No Parking zones, including fire lanes and emergency access routes, will be strictly enforced.
Along West Avenue
- Across from Baker Tower: parking spaces designated as loading zones
- Across from Founders & Lyon: the pull-off loading zone on the Slope side
Near Bethe & Keeton
- Mary Ann Wood Drive (behind William Keeton House): parking spaces designated as loading zones
- Forest Park Lane (behind Noyes Community Recreation Center): parking spaces designated as loading zones
Stewart Ave
- Paid parking spaces along road, free after 6pm and Sundays
Important Parking Information
- All unloading spaces are limited to 20 minutes. Drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times.
- After unloading, vehicles must be moved to University Avenue lot or another designated Move-in parking area.
- Students with academic-year parking permits should follow the temporary move-in parking instructions provided by Transportation Services.
