Fall Housing Selection for Rising Juniors and Seniors

2025-2026 Fall Housing Selection

Rising juniors and seniors will be able to participate in Room Selection in Fall 2024 for 2025-2026 academic year housing. This process will allow rising juniors and rising seniors to choose between selecting their current room, choosing a different room in their same area of campus, or changing communities during the rising junior and rising senior Open Room Selection process.

  • Same Room: Friday, Sept 27 @ 4pm – Tuesday, Oct 1 @ 12pm
For rising juniors or seniors on North, South, or West Campus, who'd like to stay in the room they're in now
  • Same Area: Thursday, Oct 3 @ 4pm – Monday, October 7 @ 12pm
For rising juniors and seniors who'd like to select a new place to live but in the same area of campus. Areas include North Campus Residence Halls, Program Houses, and Townhouses; South Campus Residence Halls; and West Campus House System
  • Open Room Selection: Wednesday, Oct 9 @ 4pm – Thursday, Oct 10 @ 11:59pm
For rising juniors and seniors who'd like to select from any available space on campus

To participate in Room Selection this fall, rising juniors and rising seniors must apply via the Housing Portal by September 22, 2024 at 11:59pm. While we are unable to guarantee housing to juniors and seniors, we are committed to accommodating as many students as possible given our available spaces on campus.

Program House Participation

For Veterans House, residents may participate in Same Room, Same Building (open during the same time as Same Area, but you are limited to the Same Building) and Open Room Selection. Language House residents may participate in Same Area and Open Room Selection. All other program house residents may participate in all three of the selection processes: Same Room, Same Area, or Open Room.

The academic year housing process for rising sophomores will take place in Spring 2025.

Roommate Considerations

Creating a roommate block (up to five) is permitted throughout the process. If you are selecting a multi-occupancy space and wish to pull in a specific roommate(s), you will need to have your group block established prior to reserving your room.  If you plan to live in the same room that you have this year, but with a different roommate, you will need to discuss your plans with your current roommate so that you may both plan accordingly. We encourage you to discuss any housing arrangements for next year with your current or prospective roommates and plan accordingly before the process begins.

During the Same Room and Same Area processes, students are allowed to select one room. If you are the roommate group leader, you may also pull in a roommate if you select a double, triple, or quad room. The Open Room Selection process allows students to select one or more rooms. If you are the roommate group leader, you may also assign yourself and friends to those rooms.

Building Eligibility and Considerations

Please note that some buildings are designated for specific class years, such as first-year or second-year students. Students living in these halls will not be able to participate in the same room or same building/community processes.

Fall Housing Selection Instructions

nstructions for the 2025-2026 Housing Selection process for rising juniors and rising seniors are outlined below. The process has been divided into three phases with instructions for each phase. Prior to beginning this process, you should complete the optional Roommate Group process if you intend to pull in a roommate(s).  If you created or joined a roommate group, the roommate group leader will make the assignments. Not sure how to create a roommate group?  Check out our room selection FAQs. You are also encouraged to log in and confirm your gender marker prior to your selection process. Gender marker confirmation and roommate group creation can be completed via the Housing portal when you complete your application prior to the selection process beginning.

Phase 1: Same Room Selection

Friday, Sept 27 @ 4pm – Tuesday, Oct 1 @ 12pm

  1. Starting September 27 at 4pm, you may select your same room and renew your housing for the 25-26 academic year via the housing portal.
  2. At the start of your timeslot (or anytime after) log into the Housing Portal.
  3. Once logged in to the housing portal, select ‘Undergraduate’.
  4. Click apply or continue next to the 2025-2026 Academic Year Application.
  5. The first page of the application is the Welcome Page.  This page will provide projected rates and a brief overview of the fall process.
  6. The second page of the application is the Mixed-Gender page.  This page will show you what gender we currently have for you in our housing system.  If you wish to share a room with a student of a different gender identity, both you and the other student should ‘opt-in’ to mixed-gender.
  7. The third page of the application is the Roommate Group page.  If you are renewing into a double, triple or quad and wish to pull in a preferred roommate(s), this would be where you would create your group and click ‘save and continue’.  Should you choose not to participate in same room, you may use this roommate group in Same Community or General Room Selection.  If you live in a single or super single, simply click ‘continue’.
  8. The fourth page is the renewal page.  On this page you will be presented with your current assignment.  To renew, select the assignment and click ‘continue’.
  9. If you are simply assigning yourself, select the bed you wish to assign yourself to and click ‘save and continue’.  If you are renewing the room and assigning the second, third or fourth bed, you will assign yourself first, then assign each member of your roommate group before you click save and continue.
  10. You will be asked to confirm the assignments (yours and those you have assigned to vacant beds within your room).
  11. Once confirmed, you will be presented with the terms and conditions to review and acknowledge, your assignment summary to review and acknowledge, the community standards to review and acknowledge, and your signature to sign the housing license and confirm your booking.  If you assigned another student during this process, they will receive an email with a 24-hour deadline to sign.  Should you fail to sign the housing license, the room space will become available during same community room selection.
