How to dress and what to bring to be prepared for class:

  • Shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, you will get wet at least to your knees launching and landing boats (water shoes, old sneakers, or rubber boots work great. flip flips or shores without a secure fit and heal strap do not work well). For safety reasons you can not be barefoot at these times.
  • Dress for the weather. Class will be held outside even if it is raining. Rain jackets and layers to keep you warm are recommended. If water and air temperatures are low, your instructors will talk to you about wearing a wetsuit (no extra fee).
  • I always have an extra pair of cloths and a towel in my bag (can be left in the van) incase I fall in get rained on or get cold.
  • Sun glasses, brimmed hat, sunscreen. The sun’s reflection off the water can be intense.
  • Water bottle & snack
