Welcome Big Red Families!

Whether this is your first time having a student in college or you have been through this before, it is always a new adventure. During the transition, and every year after that, we want to make sure that you and your student feel supported every step of the way.

The Office of Parent & Family Programs is committed to helping parents and families support the transformation of their students through timely communication and resources, creating a connection with Cornell, and the celebration of the important role they play in their student’s education and development. We embrace the multi-dimensional diversity of family structures, including families of origin and families of choice. We welcome and encourage the involvement of all family members, friends, and other supporters in the lives of our Cornell students. Our office is committed to partnering with you to inspire your student’s transformation.

We invite you to contact our office with your questions or concerns at families@cornell.edu. If you have an immediate concern about the health and safety of your student outside of business hours, please contact Cornell University Police Department.   Please sign up to receive email notifications from Cornell (you will need your student's netid) and join the Cornell Families Facebook Page. This includes our bi-monthly Parent & Family Connection Newsletter, many campus-wide messages, and information to keep you informed all year.

Welcome, New Cornell Families!

Join us for Cornell's Family Orientation program to kickstart your journey as part of the Cornell community. Our comprehensive program runs from May through August, featuring the Becoming Big Red Newsletter series, online Conversations webinars, and in-person sessions during move-in, August 18-19. This program is designed to help families support their students' transition to Cornell while becoming familiar with campus resources, policies, and the vibrant Cornell community.
