Cornell Outdoor Education offers special programming for Cornell affiliates and the community! Whether you're part of a youth group, a Cornell Reunion Class, or a local organization, we've got a variety of awesome offerings to get your people adventuring, and experiencing the transformative power of nature.

Canoe on Beebe LakeBeebe Lake paddling

Explore beautiful Beebe Lake by boat! Paddle around the shallow waters and then meander through the gorge up to the waterfall. Our boats fit 2-3 people.

Our instructors provide PFDs, paddles, canoes and a basic lesson in paddling.

Rock Climbing at the Lindseth Climbing Center

LCC climbing with Marcus, Rob and friendWant to face your fear of heights and challenge yourself physically? Rock climbing is a great way to connect with peers and build strong communication skills.

We offer adaptive rock climbing for people with different abilities.

Our instructors provide shoes, harnesses and basic climbing lessons.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to rappel out of the windows of Cornell's Football Stadium.

It's a stunning 50 foot descent to the ground and you control your speed while our instructors provide back up support.

Our instructors provide helmets and harnesses.

Max group size: 10 people per hour

Time: 1 hour minimum

Zipline at The Hoffman Challenge Courseropes course tower

Challenge yourself by getting up 60 feet in the air and ziplining out of our replica Cornell clocktower. This 400-foot double zipline is a thrilling way to face your fears. There are many ways to get up into the tower including a rock climbing wall, a two person giant ladder, a vertical play pen for pairs and a suspended Centipede element that swings as you climb!

Our instructors provide harnesses and helmets.

Teambuilding at The Hoffman Challenge Courseisland teambuilding

Develop your teamwork and problem solving skills on the low ropes course. There are over 30 elements at the course and our experienced instructors will design the program to suit your unique group.

Cornell Campus Scavenger Hunt Scavenger Hunt bench challenge

Want to explore Cornell campus and build some connections with your peers? Our scavenger hunt is a team bonding experience that allows you to choose your level of challenge and find out some awesome facts about Cornell. The activity is designed to promote problem solving, creative thinking and connection.

Our instructors provide activity bags and prizes.

A campfire is a magical way to end a program or a day of activities. We'll set up the fire and lead an icebreaker activity or a meaningful debrief of your experience.

Guided Hike in The Finger Lakeshiking in the gorges

Want to explore some of the local hiking trails around Cornell University? Join us for a guided hike! We'll tell you about some of the natural history, flora, and fauna in the area. The majestic waterfalls speak for themselves!

Our instructors provide transportation to and from the hiking trail. We have rain gear and trekking poles available to rent.

Slacklineslackling

Come play outdoors and test your balance skills! Slacklining is a fun way to connect with peers and try something new and different. Our instructions set up the slack line between trees on the Arts Quad or a location of your choice.

Tree ClimbingTree climbing

Climb a tree and experience the canopy from new heights. Using advanced vertical skills and gear, you'll get up into trees, hang out on tree platforms and learn about dendrology!

Dragon Boating

Gather your peers and get in a 20-person dragon boat to take your teamwork to the next level! During this unique experience,  you'll learn to paddle and race a dragon boat on the Cayuga Lake inlet. Dragon Boats in Ithaca

Professional Group
Participants who are under the age of 18 and are NOT Cornell students will need to have their parent or guardian sign a waiver before they can participate in a CTLC program. When we schedule your program we'll send out this waiver form. The program contact is responsible for collecting all of the signed waivers and giving them to the CTLC lead facilitator before the program begins.
