PE 1683: 1,000 Islands Sea Kayaking - Fall Break
CANCELED Fall 2021
Journey to a place of unique beauty just three hours north of Ithaca. A different country (Canada) and a different world, one that is perfect to explore from the cockpit of a sea kayak. Rich wildlife, granite cliffs and hundreds of rocky and forested islands, all after the hordes of summer tourists have departed. We start with basics in the Helen Newman Pool before moving on a lake and finally the St. Lawrence Seaway. Learn paddling, navigation, safety, natural history, and camping skills. The initial course sessions will prepare you for a self sufficient fall break paddling trip where you and your group load up all your gear in your kayaks and camp out on islands each night.
