Cornell University

Linens, Kitchenware & Cleaning Supplies

Undergraduate Communities:

Residents should provide their own extra-long sheets, plus blankets, pillows, towels, etc.

All buildings – with the exception of the Townhouses – have shared kitchen facilities with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and basic kitchenware. Residents may rent a mini-refrigerator or refrigerator-microwave combination for their room here. If you purchase and bring your own, please make sure it uses no more than 7.3 amps (840 watts) to start, and 1.4 amps (160 watts) while running.

Each Townhouse apartment has its own kitchen with a refrigerator and stove (no microwave). Townhouse residents should provide their own kitchenware.

Public/shared restrooms and common spaces are cleaned regularly by housekeeping staff, but students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms/suites/apartments. Each community has a vacuum cleaner or vacuum cleaners available for student use. Students should provide their own cleaning supplies for their room or apartment. Students are also responsible for removing their own garbage and recycling from their residence and bringing it to their community's designated trash room or area. Replacement trash bags are provided in each community. Facilities staff members will replace light bulbs if a maintenance request is placed.

Graduate / Professional Student Communities:

Residents should provide their own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, etc.

All kitchens are equipped with a stove/oven and a full size refrigerator. Residents of the apartment units (Hasbrouck) should provide their own kitchenware.

There are small vacuum cleaners in each apartment. Replacement vacuum cleaner bags and light bulbs may be ordered from Housekeeping staff by submitting a maintenance request.
