Events Involving Youth

If your event includes any minors (those under the age of 18), excluding current Cornell University students, it is important that you are aware of policies, procedures and guidelines established to protect the attendees and sponsoring organization. 

The Office of Children and Youth Safety at Cornell outlines requirements for events and activities that involve minors, including the required compliance and registration information. Event sponsors are required to register events with this office, and obtain their approval, prior to sponsoring any activity that involves minors. Please visit their site for more information.

If your event or activity involves a third-party vendor (i.e. visiting schools or community groups), there may be additional insurance requirements. Please visit the Office of Risk Management and Insurance for insurance requirements for programs involving youth.
