PE 1603: Snowshoeing and Winter Travel

Ready to enjoy being outside this winter?! Come explore the glens, valleys, and wooded hills blanketed by snow either hiking or on snowshoes if we get enough snow.  This class will be an outdoors hike and students should come prepared for the weather.  Although some gear is available by rental through COE, students should review the enclosed suggested gear list to be best prepared for Ithaca winters.

You may want to consider bringing along these suggested items:

• Warm Hat
• Mittens or Gloves
• Scarf or Neck Gaiter
• Sun Glasses/ Sun Block/ Lip Balm
• Base Layer (ex. long underwear top & bottom)
• Insulating layer (wind &waterproof top & bottom)
• Wool or synthetic hiking/winter socks
• Water bottle
• Small Backpack
