PE 1662: Outdoor Leadership in Practice

COE Team and Leadership

Improve your leadership skills through hands-on experiences that stretch your comfort zone. This course is a survey of outdoor adventure activities including rock climbing, ziplining, high and low ropes course activities, hiking, and rappelling. To start off, the class you will complete a leadership assessment that will help you reflect on your leadership style and growth opportunities. Then we’ll explore themes of trust-building, communication, agility, inclusion and belonging, and leadership in the outdoors. Students will visit the Hoffman Challenge Course for a full-day on the ropes course. All other classes will be 2-hour sessions right on campus. Locations will include the Lindseth Climbing Center, Schoellkopf Stadium and the Cornell Botanic Gardens. Transportation is provided.

Fee Notes Transportation is provided to off-site locations. 
AttendanceFirst and second class is are mandatory, You can miss one Thursday class and still receive PE Credit.
PrerequisitesRelatively comfortable at heights of 20 - 25 feet.
