Just About Music (JAM)
Of the 160+ students living in JAM, only a handful are music majors, but all share a passion or appreciation for music - whether they avidly listen to music or actively sing or play an instrument in a band. The house has a concert stage with lighting and sound, a well-equipped recording studio, 24-hour piano room/practice room, and practice instruments (guitar, piano, drums, etc.).
Every third Sunday of the month JAM hosts an Open Mic that enables writers, musicians, singer-songwriters, and dancers to perform for the Cornell community. JAMmies (JAM Residents) and other students are welcome to participate and showcase their talents. On the quieter side, there are weekly student-organized Listening Parties, socials, painting events, craft nights and more! JAMmies have the power to and are encouraged to be active within the community to create an atmosphere that is home for them.
JAM's practice rooms and recording studio follow regular quiet hours to ensure that residents have an environment conducive to studying and other pursuits.

- All student rooms are within pods. Each pod of rooms includes one double, one triple, two singles and a shared bathroom. Pods are single gender; floors are mixed gender. Please visit Residence Hall Configurations for more detail.
- Several pods make up a “unit.” Each unit has a kitchen and a lounge.
- Single and double bedrooms contain, for each occupant: an extra-long twin bed, a closet and a dresser, a desk and desk chair, a desk lamp, and a wastebasket
- Triple Bedrooms contain, for each occupant: an extra-long twin bed (lofted and bunked), a space-saving wardrobe/dresser combination, a desk and desk chair, a desk lamp, a wastebasket, and floor carpeting
- Wireless Internet access
JAM rooms do not have air conditioning.
Faculty Involvement
JAM has several Faculty and Community Fellows that provide students with opportunities to explore and cultivate their academic, intellectual, and cultural interests. You will find them attending events in your building, dining with students, and leading on and off campus trips to lectures, plays, films, concerts, and regional points of interest.
