Sober Living Community

Cornell’s Sober Living Community is a dedicated residential environment designed for students who choose to pursue a substance‑free lifestyle. This lifestyle may appeal to individuals who want to be surrounded with a community of like-minded peers and for students who seek a living space that aligns with their personal or spiritual beliefs. Occupying Bauer Hall, this community offers a supportive, inclusive, and wellness‑centered home for students committed to personal growth, academic success, and intentional living.
This community fosters a culture of mutual support, accountability, and respect. Residents agree to maintain a substance‑free environment and actively contribute to a positive residential atmosphere.
Recognizing that many students’ commitments to sober living intersect with their faith or spiritual practices, the Sober Living Community is designed to be flexible and welcoming to students of all religious backgrounds.
Through partnership with campus wellness resources, student organizations, counseling services, and faith‑based groups, the Sober Living Community provides residents with tools to thrive socially and academically while honoring their personal commitments. This supportive environment empowers students to build resilience, form healthy community connections, and achieve their goals within a living space that reflects their values. Furthermore, students who are in active recovery will also find community and an understanding, supportive environment in this space.
