  1. That in consideration of my participation in any Senior Days event hosted between May 21, 2023 and May 25, 2023 by the Senior Days Committee and Campus Activities office, I agree, on behalf of myself, my assigns, executors, and heirs, to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Cornell University, including the department of Campus Activities, Campus & Community Engagement, the division of Student & Campus Life, the Senior Days Committee, or Cornell University Class Councils, and its trustees, officers, agents and employees from any and all liability, incidents, damage, claim of any nature whatsoever, including any claims of negligence, on account of personal injury, exposure to COVID-19, property damage, death or accident of any kind, injuries now or in the future (including a bodily injury claim) arising out of or in any way related to my participation in any Senior Days activity or event, including any act or omission of any their part (Rescue Squad, Hospital, etc.…). I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up my legal right to sue to recover damages for any claims I might have.
  2. I also agree to all the terms and conditions contained in this document on behalf of my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, and/or myself. I hereby certify by my signature that I am physically fit and able to participate in the Senior Days events and activities. Consistent herewith, I assume responsibility for my own physical fitness and capability to participate and I have taken such steps as I deem are appropriate to assure myself that I am fit and capable of such participation. I understand that Cornell University does not provide any Accident or Medical Insurance as respects these Senior Days events, and that I am expected to provide my own Accident and Medical Insurance. I hereby agree that I am financially responsible for all such expenses whatsoever.
  3. COVID- 19 Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release of Liability: I understand and acknowledge that COVID-19 is a global pandemic and a public health risk. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at Cornell University may arise from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and/or others. I recognize that the University cannot limit all potential sources of COVID-19 infection. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, including but not limited to, the risk of illness, death, bodily injury, disability, or exposure or infection with COVID-19, for myself, and my family. I fully understand the risks, I knowingly and voluntarily waive and release Cornell University trustees, officers, agents, volunteers, employees, and students (the “Released Parties”) from all present and future claims of any type, including negligence, for any harm or loss, including but not limited to, economic loss, personal injury, disease, death or property damage suffered by me or my family, as a result of my participation in a Cornell University program or activity or as a result of my presence on Cornell University’s campus. I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties for any personal injury, death, medical expenses, disability, loss of capacity, property damage, court costs, attorney’s fees, or other loss arising out of these Senior Days events and activities.
  4. I understand that all participants are subject to Cornell University regulations including the Student Code of Conduct, Department guidelines, laws of the United States, and the laws of any state or country in which I may travel. In the event of violation of these, or behavior which is considered by Cornell University or the Department to be detrimental to the program, participant, or other participants, Cornell University and the Department shall have the right to dismiss me as a participant from any Senior Days event or activity while retaining all payments (if applicable). Even though Cornell University expects certain standards of conduct, I understand that as an adult, I am responsible for my own conduct. I further understand that there may be times during this activity where there will be no supervision, and during these times I alone am responsible for my personal safety including the risk of auto accident, crime, or any other risk that I may encounter. I understand that whatever activity I choose to engage in, I shall not bring shame, embarrassment or ridicule upon the Cornell University or this program on account of my behavior. In consideration of payment by Cornell University of some or all of the Senior Days events or activities costs, I understand that if a court determines that part of this agreement is invalid, it shall not invalidate the rest of this agreement.
  6. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of New York. Any action or proceeding brought by any party to construe or enforce this Agreement, or for damages for breach hereof, shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located within the State of New York
  7. I acknowledge and agree that I may be participating in an event that involves the consumption of alcohol. I understand that I must be at least 21 years of age to consume alcohol and alcoholic beverages. I assume the risks associated with the Event activities. I assume the risks associated with alcohol consumption and take full responsibility for my own actions, safety, and welfare. I further understand that I will be a member of a group and that I will conduct myself in a way that does not endanger other participants or the group. I agree to exercise ordinary and reasonable care at all times, and to not imbibe alcohol to the extent that my judgment is impaired. I understand the potential risks associated with the consumption of alcohol and acknowledges that I do not have or am not aware of any medical condition(s) that would prevent me from consuming alcohol or would result in any injury or damage to myself as a result of my consumption of alcohol. I acknowledge and agree that Cornell shall not be responsible or liable for any accident, injury, theft, loss or damage caused by my impaired judgment or negligence. I waive any claim which I, my heirs, successors assigns, spouse, family members or legal representatives may have against Cornell arising from or as a result of any such accident, injury, theft, loss or damage caused by my impaired judgment or negligence. For tickets purchased on 4/15: At this time, we are still working through challenges with PayPal and cannot issue a refund immediately, but will be in contact as soon as we are able. There are different layers to this and we are trying to streamline as much as possible, and we are in constant contact with PayPal to sort through this.

Thank you for your understanding as we have been working through these unprecedented issues, and we are sorry that this has been the experience.

Transferring free events: You can remove your reservation yourself for free events on CampusGroups by going to the event page and canceling your RSVP. Please do this if you can't attend, especially for events with limited capacity and waitlists.

Event waitlists

Event waitlists

Waitlist for paid ticketed events: If you were unable to secure a ticket for a paid event, add your name to the waitlist on the CampusGroups event. We will be reaching out on a first-come, first-served basis. If we reach out, you have 24 hours to respond before forfeiting your offer. This also informs us on interest for events where there is potential to secure additional tickets.

Waitlist for free events: All free events on CampusGroups offer a waitlist slot. For most events, we encourage folks on the waitlist to attend day-of. If there are no-shows, we can offer space to join. If spaces open up before the event, we will take folks off the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to complete the waitlist form above. If you have a ticket for a free event and no longer are able to join, please remove yourself from the list so we can best accommodate your peers.

Alcohol & Other Drugs

Alcohol & Other Drugs

Senior Days offers a few events with alcohol. The legal drinking age is 21 and valid government-issued photo IDs are required to present at all events. If you drink alcohol, plan ahead for safety and follow these tips.

Cornell’s Student Code of Conduct applies every day of the year, including during Senior Days. If you see someone who requires medical attention due to an alcohol or drug-related emergency, do the right thing and call 9-1-1.

The Good Samaritan protocol/law helps protect you (and the person needing assistance) from judicial / legal consequences if you call for help.

Weather (Severe Weather Guidelines)

Weather (Severe Weather Guidelines)

Plan ahead by checking the weather for your Senior Days events. For all outdoor events, we will be monitoring events and emailing registered attendees of any changes or cancelations. Please monitor your email prior to the event if the weather looks like an issue for your outdoor event. In most cases, outside events will not be rescheduled.
