Reserving space
Find information here about reserving space in Sage Chapel or Anabel Taylor Hall for your group or event.
Reserving space
Sage Chapel and Anabel Taylor Hall are nonsectarian spaces that are religious and spiritual in nature. Priority is given to events that are religious, spiritual, or ethical in nature, as well as musical events in the chapels, and events that support student wellness, equity, empowerment, and belonging.
Conference and Event Services manages all weddings, remembrance services, private events, and requests from outside groups and parties.
Scheduling Procedure
Submit reservation requests through the Scheduling@Cornell website, where you can also find information describing rooms, capacity, and rates. Please contact the scheduling support team with any questions about the scheduling process. You may also contact the OSMM office at 607.255.6002 or via email.
For full consideration, please submit your reservation request at least 10 business days before the scheduled event. CURW groups may reserve spaces up to one year in advance. Other groups may reserve spaces after July 15 for Fall Semester and after November 15 for Spring Semester.
Groups are responsible for their own setup and for returning the space to its original setup and condition after their event. Setup assistance and tech support may be available for an additional fee. Please describe your setup and audio/visual requirements in your original reservation request, and the scheduler will respond with options, availability, and cost if applicable.
Please note you are not allowed to use candles in any of these facilities unless you have a fire permit from the fire department. Contact Environmental Health and Safety at askehs@cornell.edu or 607.255.8200.
Scheduling Priority
- OSMM, CURW, and Music Department have priority in Sage Chapel and Anabel Taylor Chapel. The Alternative Testing Program has priority in the Auditorium (ATH 230) on weekdays during the academic year. OSMM, CURW, and CTA have priority in all other spaces in Anabel Taylor Hall.
- Religious festival observance (e.g. High Holy Days, Ramadan Iftars), religious services, and midday music series take precedence over other events. These reservations must be submitted by July 15 (Fall Semester) or November 15 (Spring Semester) to receive priority.
- Regularly scheduled events normally take precedence over special events, although this is subject to negotiated exceptions, depending on the importance of the special event.
- Campus events directly sponsored by CURW or CTA member groups take precedence over events sponsored by other groups.
- Campus events that are religious, spiritual, or ethical in nature, or that support wellness, equity, and belonging, take precedence over other events.
- Meetings and events for Cornell students and personnel take precedence over children’s programs and non-University activities.
- Events for non-University groups and individuals must be sponsored by a University group or department or reserved through Conference and Event Services.
- OSMM reserves the right to adjust or cancel reservations when this is reasonable to preserve public safety, to best serve Cornell students, and to honor the religious and spiritual nature of our shared spaces.
