Graduate Admissions & Financial Aid

Graduate School Admissions

The Graduate School offers research and professional degrees in nearly 100 fields of study. Review the full list of degrees conferred through the Graduate School.

If you have questions about the Graduate School application, or how to complete the application based on your status, please contact the Graduate School Admissions Office at gradadmissions@cornell.edu or (607) 255-5832.

Financial Aid

Does Cornell University provide financial aid for Undocumented/DACAmented graduate students?

For funded degree programs, Cornell graduate funding packages include assistantship appointments that require students to hold a federal I9 form. Undocumented applicants should check in advance with the graduate field associated with the degree program to which they are applying to determine the types of financial support that may be available. Find contact information for the graduate field and degree program of interest.Newly and currently enrolled graduate students who hold DACA status and receive funding through the university will continue to receive funding for the complete length of time offered in their admissions letters (assuming satisfactory academic progress). If DACA is discontinued and enrolled graduate students who had DACA status lose federal work authorization necessary for assistantship appointments, fellowship funding (which does not require this authorization) will be provided instead of an assistantship. This will honor the funding commitment graduate students holding DACA status received at time of admission to the Graduate School.

Cornell Law School

Admissions

The Law School offers a rigorous legal education within a small, close-knit community of scholars, students--approximately 700 students including our Juris Doctor, Master of Laws and Exchange students—and staff. We offer more than 160 courses annually and a robust clinical program. Additional information about our program and community is available online.

We subscribe to Cornell’s long-standing tradition of inclusivity and DACA students are encouraged to apply and feel comfortable in discussing their background. Our Admissions Office also has counselors available to discuss the application process as well as provide guidance related to individual applicant circumstances. Admissions staff may be reached at jdadmissions@cornell.edu or (607) 255-5141.

Financial Aid

DACA students are eligible to receive merit aid/scholarship from the Law School based upon candidates’ individual competitiveness.
