Creating Your Schedule

In order to successfully create your schedule, follow these steps closely and consult additional resources that your college sends you.

  1. Activate your Cornell NetID, email, and Two-Step Login. You will need an active Cornell NetID and Two-Step Login for course enrollment and course add/drop. The university will send you enrollment information via your Cornell email address.
  2. Review your college's course enrollment information and degree requirements. Take advantage of college and university resources! Your college or school will email you information pertaining to course enrollment, both how and what to consider during your course selection. Consult with either your faculty or college advisor prior to planning for the upcoming term. Use the Class Roster to build your class schedule. Refer to the University Registrar website for more information regarding classes and enrollment.
  3. Complete your Re-Entry Term Checklist. The Re-Entry Term checklist is available via Student Center under your To-Do List. Failure to complete your Term checklist will result in an enrollment hold and you will be prevented from enrolling in courses and/or updating your class schedule.
  4. Review the Class Roster, use Scheduler to plan a term schedule, and add classes to your Shopping Cart within Student Center. Take some time to review the class offerings in the Class Roster and build a schedule (or multiple schedules) using the Scheduler tool. Using the class numbers from your preferred schedule, add classes to your Shopping Cart in Student Center. During your enrollment appointment window, submit your Shopping Cart requests to officially enroll in the course. Reach out to your faculty or college advisor with any questions that you may have.
  5. Enroll in classes through Student Center. You can find your enrollment appointment window via Student Center under Enrollment Dates (found on the right side of the Student Center landing page). Each academic session at Cornell has a deadline to add, drop, and change grading basis/credits (when variable) for your various courses. Refer to the Key Academic Dates for the upcoming academic year to ensure you are meeting the deadlines.
  6. Verify your schedule via Student Center prior to the end of the Add period and again prior to the Drop enrollment period.
