Share Your COE Story

Hikers on Mountaintop

An invitation:

As we honor the 50 year history of COE and WR/Outdoor Odyssey, we invite you to share stories about your connections to, take-aways from, and memories of these programs. All stories, big and small, are welcome.

Why:

Experiencing your stories will help the COE community reflect, learn, grow, and connect. We look forward to sharing your stories with the Reunion community in some of the following ways:

  • In written materials
  • Through audio recordings
  • And live, on stage, at the 50th Reunion Evening Welcome Program on Thursday, July 6!

Interested in submitting a story idea but need help getting started?

Consider one of the three prompts below:
  1. What has stayed the same for or about you since your time at COE? Tell us about these constants, how you've noticed them, and how they impact you and those around you.

  2. Tell us about a time you found yourself outside your comfort zone and what you gained from the experience.
  3. Is there a skill, habit, or principle you learned at COE that has shown up in your life since COE and/or that you still use today?

How to participate:

To submit your story, please see this form. Using the form, you’ll be able to either submit a recorded voice memo (up to 5 minutes long) or write a short (100 - 1000 word) summary.

Please note that you do not need to submit a polished story to participate in this process. Brief reflections or short snippets of memories are also welcome.

What happens next:

An excited team of alumni will review submissions and might select you to deliver yours on the opening night of the event. If you accept the invitation to the stage, we’ll work with you ahead of time to support you as you prepare to share your story with a live audience.

Thank you!

We look forward to hearing your stories and celebrating the past, present, and future of COE together! If you have any questions or need help with your submission, please contact us at cornelloutdoors50@gmail.com.
