Assistant Vice President, Finance and Operations
Dan Sweeney serves as the AVP of Finance and Operations within the Division of Student and Campus Life (SCL), where his team ensures the effective deployment of Information Technology, Facilities, Accounting, Risk Management, Business Analytics, and Financial Planning support services to departments within the division. Working collaboratively as integrated cross-functional partners, leaders from the SCL-OVP support team strive to enhance the day-to-day operational effectiveness of our campus, deliver timely business reporting and information to stakeholders, manage key divisional systems and processes, and steward financial and capital resources on behalf of the SCL-VP. Dan holds a BA in Political Science from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Human Resources from Walden University. Dan has served Cornell for over 11 years in a variety of Financial and HR leadership roles, most recently as the Sr. Director of Finance and Administration for SCL’s Campus Life Enterprise Services team. Prior to his service to Cornell, Dan worked as an operational leader in the outdoor sports and recreation corporate retail sector.
