Alumni Engagement
Good Food, Good Mood Speaker Series
During the fall and spring semesters, The Cornell Commitment hosts lunch and chat sessions that feature an alumni speaker in-person or via Zoom. The series provides the opportunity for students to talk with alumni and connect with other students across our three-program membership. The sessions are small and informal in an effort to help students feel comfortable speaking with alumni.
Feeney Days of Service
To honor The Cornell Commitment's most generous donor, Chuck Feeney, the Commitment organizes "Feeney Days of Service" held for a week in January. Student volunteers work with organizations in the Ithaca community and alums are encouraged to participate in the week's line up of activities!
Dr. Andrea Durst Talk
Dr. Andrea Durst, a Cornell Tradition alum, returned to campus for reunion in summer of 2018. She gave an informative talk on her professional career in genetics as a practitioner and academic. She also met with students one on one to talk about pursuing genetic counseling.
Osei Boateng and Ghana Service Trip
During the fall of 2018, Osei Boateng, a Tradition alum, held an information session for Commitment students about a winter service trip opportunity in his home country of Ghana. Three students from the Commitment programs traveled to Ghana during January 2019. Osei looks forward to hosting a similar session in fall of 2019.
