Signature Programs

Women looking up.

Since 1929, the affiliated communities, chaplains, and religious life affiliates who form Cornell United Religious Work (CURW) have provided programs for religious observance, community, and spiritual formation. The Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making (OSMM) builds on this tradition by creating new programs that support spiritual wellbeing for any student who is religious, spiritual, secular, or searching.

Community Groups

Find support for your spiritual wellbeing! Community Groups are spaces for spiritual connection and exploration. Some are religious and some are not. Some are focused on a specific tradition or identity, and some are accessible to anyone. Most groups welcome drop-ins. All groups are spaces to bring your questions, to share and connect with others, and to nurture your wellbeing.

Community Groups are offered during the Fall and Spring semesters. See Current Community Groups to learn more.

Interfaith at Cornell

Interfaith at Cornell includes everyone… wherever you are on your individual journey. We create spaces to connect, explore, share, listen, and question together. Our interfaith community welcomes students from all major world religions, students with no religion, spiritual students, and students exploring multiple practices and traditions.

The Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making works with the student-led Interfaith Council at Cornell to support religious and spiritual student clubs and to create opportunities for interfaith learning and friendship.

Want to get involved? Have a question about club funding? Email the Interfaith Council at interfaith@cornell.edu.

OSMM hires a team of student Interfaith Ambassadors who plan interfaith programs and develop skills together as interfaith leaders on campus. Contact Ivy Breivogel to learn more.

Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration

The annual Commemoration is a cross-campus and community partnership that makes accessible the life and legacy of Dr. King for contemporary times. Learn more about our annual MLK Commemoration.

Soup & Hope

During the winter months, we gather in the historic Sage Chapel to enjoy good soup and to hear stories of resilience and hope from members of the Cornell University community. Learn more about Soup and Hope.

Lessons and Carols

The Music Department and Cornell United Religious Work host Lessons and Carols every December in Sage Chapel. The event features the University Chorus and Glee Club with biblical and other readings presented by members of the Cornell community.
