Huey Hsiao

Huey Hsiao (he/his/him)serves as the Kent G. Sheng '78 Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Asian and Asian American Center (A3C). Huey received a bachelor's degree in biology and an Asian Studies certificate from the University of Rochester, and an MBA from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). Huey has 20+ years of experience working in higher education and is committed to supporting the holistic growth and development of students. Prior to joining Cornell, Huey served as the Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs and the Kessler Scholars Program at Syracuse University, where he led the planning of AAPI Heritage Month, directed the nationally recognized WellsLink Leadership Program, and served as the campus lead for the Kessler Program. He previously served as assistant director of student services, MBA and MS Programs in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. In addition, he worked in education abroad for the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), including a semester abroad as assistant resident director at National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan.  He also taught English at Nankai University in Tianjin, China. 

Huey is a second-generation Chinese American born and raised in North Haven, CT.  Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family (including their cats, Hubbard and River.)
