Veda Kamaraju
SAB President

Systems Engineering; 2026

Hey! I'm Veda Kam, a senior originally from the Bay Area, California. I work in the De Vlaminck Lab at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and my research encompasses analyzing tumor microenvironments via computational genomics as well as health tech development. On campus, I lead Cornell DEBUT (BME project team), Saarang, and the RCPRS Student Advisory Board. In my free time, I hike Ithaca's many nature trails and explore coffee shops with friends. vsk32@cornell.edu.

Rowan Lopez

Rowan Lopez
SAB Vice-President

Biological Sciences; 2026

Hello! My name is Rowan and I'm originally from Texas. I'm a senior in CALS studying Biological Sciences with a concentration in Marine Biology and minors in Classical Civilizations and American Indian and Indigenous Studies. My research interests broadly encompass the evolution and related genetics of novel traits in marine invertebrates, especially the cnidarians. I am an undergraduate researcher in the Babonis Lab, where I am working on characterizing the stinging cells in two closely related species on sea anemones. On campus, I am involved with the Cornell Raptor Program, Biology Scholars Program and MOSAIC. gnl7@cornell.edu

Jordan VelteJordan Velte

Applied Economics and Management; 2027

I am Jordan Velte, a junior in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. Originally from Germany, I was dual-enrolled at the University of Hamburg alongside my high school studies and collaborated with the Technical University of Munich in behavioral economics. This project focused on analyzing the efficiency of cap-and-trade carbon emission trading systems and modeled micro-trading climate clubs on a local scale. Currently, I am a Research Assistant for Professor Lawrence Jin at the SC Johnson College of Business, working on a project in behavioral finance. This project aims at identifying and analyzing biases exhibited by various AI platforms. Moreover, it investigates the broad implications of these AI biases on human behavior and economic activities. In my free time, I like to read and play the piano with my friends. jv462@cornell.edu

Aiden Hwang

Aiden Hwang

Design & Environmental Analysis; 2028

Hi there! I'm Aiden, and I'm studying Design + Environmental Analysis in the College of Human Ecology. I'm from Long Island, NY, and my research passions lie in human-computer interactions through three-dimensional design. I work with professor Sang Leigh in the Machine Poetics Lab to explore how unusual interactions between humans and AI-driven machines can evolve technology's traditional roles. In addition to research, I enjoy playing the tenor trombone in campus music groups, taking aesthetic sky photos, serving as an Ambassador for Human Ecology, and testing whimsical designs with 3D printers.

Andrea Kim

Andrea Kim

Environment & Sustainability; 2028

Andrea Kim is a sophomore studying Environment and Sustainability with an intended concentration in Environmental Policy and Governance. She is from New Jersey, where she began to pursue her research interest in domesticated pollinator ecology, especially regarding Apidae. Through the Rawlings program, she is currently in the McArt Lab, where she studies disease ecology in bumblebees. On campus, she is also involved in the Cornell Daily Sun, the Cornell Environmental Collaborative, the Cornell Fashion Collective, and works as an outreach assistant in the Danforth Lab. ack247@cornell.edu

Miranda AzemiMiranda Azemi

Biological Sciences; 2028

I am Miranda Azemi, a sophomore majoring in biological sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I am from Syracuse, New York. My interest in research stems from my lab experience in high school, where I had the opportunity to synthesize peptides and test their catalytic abilities. I fell in love with the scientific process, specifically answering my very own questions. For example, when my petri dish 'miraculously' grew moths, I was left puzzled and intrigued. It was indeed out of the ordinary, but it was the perfect learning opportunity and chance to apply the scientific method. Fortunately, I have been able to transfer my love of research into my undergraduate career. Currently, my research is on identifying genes that lead to neurodegenerative disorders. Aside from research, I like to go to the gym, journal, and spend time with loved ones!

Neuorbiology & Behavior; 2028

Hi, I’m Sophie! I’m a rising sophomore pursuing a double-major in neurobiology and psychology. I’m from Southern California but originally from Singapore. I’m an undergraduate research assistant in the Goldberg lab, studying dopamine in the brain of songbirds, and assisting with perfusion fixations and vibratome sectioning. On campus, I’m also a part of the Kendo club and DanceSport, but in my free time, I like to draw and crochet. sb2685@cornell.edu

Yubin Lee

Cognitive Science; 2027

Hey guys! I'm Yubin Lee, a junior from New Jersey majoring in Cognitive Science. I work with Professor Gary in Human Ecology on research exploring how poverty impacts emotion perception, altruism, and threat perception. I'm also part of the Affect and Cognition Lab (ACLAB), where I'm exploring how poverty influences the locus coeruleus using MRI data. On campus, I lead the Cognitive Science Club and am part of Cornell's Biomedical Device Project Team (CUBMD). In my free time, I love playing and collecting board games. yml8@cornell.edu
