Cortney Johnson (she/they) is the Interim Co-Director for the Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging as well as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the LGBT Resource Center. In their role, they provide strategic leadership for the Resource Center, which aims to support and empower LGBTQ+ students on campus. She also oversees all educational offerings from the center and provides consultation and guidance for campus partners looking to learn more about the inclusion of LGBTQ+ students. 

Prior to their role at Cornell, Cortney served as the Assistant Director of Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Studies in Diverse Populations, focusing their dissertation research on the experience of trans students in higher education in the Southeast. Cortney also has a M.Ed. in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Cortney is a confidential resource and is available for one-on-one meetings by appointment.
