Cayuga Lake Rentals

Paddling on Cayuga Lake
 

We will be offering stand up paddle board and canoe rentals on Cayuga Lake again this summer. Hours of operation will be Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11am-6pm with 30 minutes on each end for set up and break down. We operate between the Merrill Sailing Center and East Shore Park. This is a fun job in a beautiful setting, but it is also quite physical. You are on your feet most of the time and constantly moving and carrying boats. Hours can be flexible from 8-24 per week, but working weekends will be required.

Start date is June 3rd and will run through early August. Training will be provided before then. Pay is $15/hr. For more information or to apply contact Ben Blakeley at brb4@cornell.edu.

Requirements 

  • Basic knowledge of canoe and stand up paddle board techniques
  • Ability to lift and carry canoes and paddle boards
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic first and CPR certifications

Duties

  • Set up and break down equipment, tables, tent each day

  • Welcome paddlers and inform them of their options for paddling
  • Ensure paperwork is complete and process payments
  • Outfit paddlers, give a basic orientation on paddling and Cayuga Lake and help them get in and out of boats
