SCL Annual Transformation Awards

In our everyday work, we strive to inspire transformation by living our values, supporting students, engaging with customers, and being colleagues with each other. The SCL Transformation Awards are designed to recognize those among us who have shown their commitment to the SCL values and purpose in their interactions with students, staff, customers, and peers.

The Transformation Awards are: Inspiring Transformation, Lifting Culture, Empowering Staff, Reaching Higher, and Fostering Connections. Read more about these awards below:

Inspiring Transformation

  • Highest divisional award for excellence and integrity
  • Vice President selects from all nominees
  • Lunch with Vice President, nominator, unit leader and direct supervisor at Taverna Banfi

Lifting Culture

  • Staff who have a great attitude, emphasize fun, promote positive office culture/climate, make the day better for colleagues
  • Peer nomination
  • Lunch for 2 (two) at Taverna Banfi

Empowering Staff

  • Awarded to supervisors who develop, motivate, and encourage staff to learn new skills and pursue new opportunities
  • Peer and leader nomination
  • Lunch for 2 (two) at Taverna Banfi

Reaching Higher

  • Staff who develop a new initiative, an innovative new program or project, or create new synergies through collaboration
  • Leader/DLT nomination
  • Lunch for 2 (two) at Taverna Banfi

Fostering Connections

  • Staff/leaders who promote inclusivity and create a sense of belonging for all staff by including voices in decision-making
  • Peer and leader nomination
  • Lunch for 2 (two) at Taverna Banfi

All recipients will receive: 

  • Lunch at Taverna Banfi
  • A framed certificate 

The names of the recipients will be engraved on an award that is displayed in recipient’s office/work location until the next year.

All award recipients, their supervisors, and nominees will be invited to a reception with the VPSCL and senior leaders.

To nominate a colleague: 

  • Award nomination forms are available HERE
  • Completed nomination forms are due July 15 every year
  • All nominees should exemplify SCL values in thoughtful and engaging ways that encourage and inspire transformation. (inclusivity, integrity, excellence, collaboration, empowerment, innovation, fun)
  • SCL employees who have been employed in SCL for a minimum of 12 months are eligible for each award
