Transformation Award Selection Process

  • Award nomination forms are available HERE.
  • SCL employees who have been employed in SCL for a minimum of 12 months are eligible for each award.
  • All nominees should exemplify SCL values in thoughtful and engaging ways that encourage and inspire transformation. (inclusivity, integrity, excellence, collaboration, empowerment, innovation, fun)

Committee Membership

  • Staff can apply to be on the committee via Talent Marketplace.
  • Committee will meet mid-fall until mid-January.
  • Selection committee composition:
    • Two non-exempt staff
    • Two exempt staff
    • Two union staff
    • One non-voting member from the previous year’s committee
  • The vice president will appoint one of the committee members as the chair.
    • Chair does not vote except in the case of a tie or to make quorum.
  • No selection committee member can serve as a voting member two years in a row.
  • Each department will have one representative serve on the selection committee. (CCE, Cornell Health, Campus Life, OVP, DOS, Athletics and Physical Education, Career Services)
  • Six of the seven committee members must be present for the committee to make a final decision.
  • All selection committee meetings are confidential.

Recognition of Recipients

  • All recipients will receive:
    • Lunch at Taverna Banfi.
    • A framed certificate.
    • The names of the recipients will be engraved on an award displayed in recipient’s office/ work location until the next year, when it is passed on to the next award recipient.
    • All award recipients, their supervisors, and nominees will be invited to a reception with the VPSCL and senior leaders.
