Transformation Award Selection Process
- Award nomination forms are available HERE.
- SCL employees who have been employed in SCL for a minimum of 12 months are eligible for each award.
- All nominees should exemplify SCL values in thoughtful and engaging ways that encourage and inspire transformation. (inclusivity, integrity, excellence, collaboration, empowerment, innovation, fun)
Committee Membership
- Staff can apply to be on the committee via Talent Marketplace.
- Committee will meet mid-fall until mid-January.
- Selection committee composition:
- Two non-exempt staff
- Two exempt staff
- Two union staff
- One non-voting member from the previous year’s committee
- The vice president will appoint one of the committee members as the chair.
- Chair does not vote except in the case of a tie or to make quorum.
- No selection committee member can serve as a voting member two years in a row.
- Each department will have one representative serve on the selection committee. (CCE, Cornell Health, Campus Life, OVP, DOS, Athletics and Physical Education, Career Services)
- Six of the seven committee members must be present for the committee to make a final decision.
- All selection committee meetings are confidential.
Recognition of Recipients
- All recipients will receive:
- Lunch at Taverna Banfi.
- A framed certificate.
- The names of the recipients will be engraved on an award displayed in recipient’s office/ work location until the next year, when it is passed on to the next award recipient.
- All award recipients, their supervisors, and nominees will be invited to a reception with the VPSCL and senior leaders.
