Robert G. Engel Director of Sorority & Fraternity Life
Kara received her B.A. in Psychology from Gannon University in Erie, PA, M.Ed. In Higher Education from the College of William and Mary, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University. Prior to coming to Cornell in 2006, Kara worked as the Coordinator for Greek Affairs at the University of Miami (FL) for three years. Kara has worked with each of our undergraduate councils at Cornell but her primary role was the advisor to the Interfraternity Council (IFC) before she became the Director of OSFL in Summer 2017.
Associate Director of Sorority and Fraternity Life
Dee received her B.A. in Political Science from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, KY in 2011, and her M.Ed. in Student Affairs from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY in 2017. Prior to arriving in Ithaca, Dee served as a Residence Hall Director for a Sorority Affiliated complex, as well as an Admissions Counselor. Dee is a proud member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. She is passionate about social justice initiatives, with specific interest in lgbtq+ inclusion within the fraternity and sorority community.
Assistant Director of Sorority and Fraternity Life & PHC Advisor
Maddy graduated from Western Illinois University in 2019 with a B.A. in History. After graduation, she worked for Alpha Sigma Alpha National Sorority as a Leadership Consultant for two years. Maddy spent the 2021-2022 academic year at Iowa State University in the M.Ed in Student Affairs program. While in the program she served as a Leadership Education and Development Advisor in the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement as the advisor to the Interfraternity Council. Maddy is working to complete her Master's Degree from Iowa State University.
Adrian began working at Cornell in January of 2019. Her first role was as the Program Assistant in the Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA Program. In April 2021, she joined the SFL staff. Prior to working in higher education at Cornell University, she worked for the Department of Homeland Security in human resources. her first full-time job was working for New York Community Bank as a financial services associate managing client accounts.
