Organization Specific & General Workshops

The student and advisor leadership workshop series are virtual trainings on a variety of topics. These general topics provide the opportunity for one to dig deeper in gaining additional resources and knowledge. Topics are designed to provide learning opportunities to both students and advisors wishing to further grow in their perspective areas.  All workshops are on Cornell time, EST.

Tell Me More (open to any student leader and advisor)
  • February 18 at 4pm: Utilizing CampusGroups To Best Support Your Organization
    • Learn about features within CampusGroups that can foster connection among your members, including:
      - emails/newsletters
      - event advertisement
      - forms/surveys
      - file-sharing/officer transition documents
      - membership records
      - free website hosting;
      - and more!
  • March 4 at 4pm: Branding, Marketing, and Promotions
    • The goal of any brand marketing workshop is to help identify and create a brand that best reflects an organization’s vision and values. Come dive deeper into how your organization can develop a successful brand image that connects and resonates with others.
  • March 4 and 22 at 5pm: Managing Emotions During A Pandemic
    • The goal of this workshop is to reflect on how to best manage emotions during a pandemic. Everyone is different and when you're in a group setting, it is important to understand how to best support yourself and your peers.
  • March 8 and 18 at 4pm: Leadership and Hidden Biases
    • Looking to seek a better understanding of leadership and implicit/hidden biases that you may have. Come and learn ways to identify self hidden biases while reflecting on next steps.
  • April 1 at 4pm: Inclusion 2.0
    • Looking for an opportunity to learn more about your own biases and how to become more self-aware so you can be a more effective leader or advisor?  You will have a chance to explore how one’s biases may impact the recruitment and retention of a diverse group of organization members.  This awareness when implemented with action steps can expand the breadth and depth of your organization and its impact within the Cornell community.

  • January 27 at 2pm: New Member Educator Training
    • Presidents and New Member Educators must attend

  • January 29 at 4pm: TriCouncil Virtual Recruitment Fair
  • February 2 at 4pm: Social Event Training
    • President, Risk Manager, Social Chair must attend
  • February 4 at 1pm: Leaders Retreat
    • President, Vice President [or second in charge] must attend
  • February 5 at 1:30pm: House Manager Training
    • University Owned House managers must attend
