Alec S. Brown, Ph.D. is the Rawlings Cornell Presidential Research Scholars Program Director within the Office of National Fellowships. Alec began work with RCPRS in Fall 2022. Alec is very passionate about promoting student engagement in research and partnerships with faculty and other mentors. Research is a conversation and Alec works to enable students to become an active part of that discussion. Prior to coming to Cornell University, Alec worked at Washington State University in Pullman, WA, Olympic College in Bremerton, WA, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, NV. Alec received his Ph.D. in Political Science from UNLV, focusing on international relations. He also received a bachelor’s in Political Science from UNLV. Outside of work, Alec enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking. Additionally, Alec enjoys cooking, reading science fiction (especially Star Trek), and working with his hands to create.
