Student and Campus Life Postering Policy
Cornell community members may hang promotional and informational posters in designated areas across campus.
This policy is an addendum to the University's Expressive Activity Policy and applies to all postering activity (including posters, signs, banners, and installations) in Student and Campus Life (SCL) facilities and managed spaces, covering all internal surfaces and exterior facades. Postering activity that is improperly placed, expired, or does not meet requirements will be removed.
SCL facilities have two types of clearly labeled posting areas:
- "Department Use" areas (reserved for SCL department use only) coming this summer
- "Community Use" areas (open to Cornell community use and subject to requirements below) coming this summer
Community Use Postering Requirements
- Postering activity must comply with Cornell's Expressive Activity Policy
- Must be placed in designated "Community Use" areas only
- Sponsors must be Cornell community members (no third-party solicitation)
- Identifying a sponsoring organization/individual is not required but is recommended
- Maximum size: 187 square inches (11" x 17" or approximately A3)
- Only one poster per event/initiative per board/location (duplicates will be removed)

Policies for Postering in the Residential Buildings
