Sasha Schwimmer
Hi! My name is Sasha and I’m from Dallas, Texas. I’m a senior majoring in Hotel Administration and am planning to double minor in Real Estate and Spanish. On campus, I am a member of the Ye Hosts Honorary Society, for which I am serving as VP of Internal Affairs this year. I’m also a Mentor for the Hotel School, a Course Assistant for Hotelie Launchpad, and an Administrative Assistant for The Cornell Commitment Office. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, acrylic painting, baking cookies, and playing pickleball. One of my favorite parts about being a Meinig Scholar is the MFCNS Executive Mentoring program because it has allowed me to form personal relationships with Cornell leaders. As Co-Chair of the E-Board, I look forward to helping to plan fun and engaging activities which will allow scholars to create memories and build lifelong friendships.
Mia Honrubia
Hello! My name is Mia Honrubia, and I am a senior from McAllen, TX studying Human Biology, Health, and Society at the College of Human Ecology. I am a certified lactation counselor and found my passion for neonatology by volunteering in the NICU. I have since instituted several programs to better the lives of premature infants and their mothers and hope to continue my research here at Cornell. On Campus, I like to keep active, playing the Brazilian club sport, Footvolley (it is similar to beach volleyball, except no hands allowed)! Through Meinig, I not only have the opportunity to meet the current leaders on our beautiful Campus, I also get to collaborate with other members.
Matthew Leonard
Hello! My name is Matthew Leonard, and I am a senior studying Biology and Society in CALS from Long Island, New York. I recently worked in health administration at Northwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital and I have found a passion for hospital operations and health management. I hope to continue to explore and learn about the inner workings of the U.S. healthcare system here at Cornell. One of the best things about being a Meinig Scholar is the ability to take part in the MFCNS Executive Mentoring Program, where I was able to form meaningful relationships with amazing leaders that I idolized before coming to Cornell. I believe that all Meinigs should try their best to join the mentoring program and immerse themselves in this experience. I aim to be of help to any new and returning Meinigs to create the most meaningful experience possible!

Sophia Trapani
Hello! My name is Sophia Trapani, and I am a sophomore pre-med student studying Biology and Society in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences from New York City. I recently worked at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine (Guccione Lab) studying liver cancer and immune responses where I deepened my passion for medical research. On campus, I continue to explore my scientific interests through research at the Cerione Lab; play on the women’s club rugby team, where I am also an E-Board member; and compete in various events with the university’s speech team (our team took 6th at nationals last year!). As an E-Board member, I seek to connect my fellow scholars to the vast leadership networks and support here at Cornell. I have really enjoyed my time in the program and highly encourage all Meinig scholars to take advantage of the Executive and Peer mentoring programs, as I have met amazing people through both!

Rayanna Northgrave
Hello! My name is Rayanna Northgrave. I am currently a sophomore in CALS studying Food Science. I am from sunny Southern California. I am deeply passionate about all things food. I went to culinary school for four years and fell in love with the art behind the things we eat. I enjoy learning about sustainability and ways we can grow the food industry while keeping the world a clean place. I hope that I can offer a helping hand to any dedicated student who is looking for opportunities to expand their leadership skills.
