Student and Campus Life Learning Outcomes

Cornell University’s division of Student and Campus Life (SCL) values the critical role the co-curricular experience plays in student learning and development. In an effort to put our mission to “inspire transformation” in all students into action, SCL has developed student learning outcomes. These outcomes were developed by the Student Holistic Learning Priority Team, which is comprised of staff from across the division. In alignment with Cornell’s Learning Outcomes and SCL’s four core values, the learning outcomes will inform and align the work of our units and departments.

Belonging

Students will increase their sense of self and have confidence to be genuine with others.
Students will understand how their identities impact themselves and others. Students will develop meaningful connections with people different than themselves.

Interpersonal Skills

Students will identify opportunities to grow and reflect on their interpersonal skills.
Students will pursue opportunities for engagement with others that strengthen interpersonal skills.

Students will value different perspectives as a part of effective collaboration.

Well-being

Students will define the importance of well-being for themselves. Students will utilize resources and activities that build skills to enhance their well-being. Students will apply the skills learned to support their well-being and work through challenges.
