Undergraduate residences closing for Winter Break on December 19th

Winter break is right around the corner!

All undergraduate residential buildings will close for Winter Break on Sunday, December 19 at 2:00pm. Please note that students who have not vacated their building by 2:00pm on December 19 could be charged $46.00 for every hour (or fraction of an hour) they remain in the building after that time. It is extremely important that you notify us of your plans!

To help us plan for appropriate support for winter break closing, please log in to the housing portal to select a timeslot regarding your date of departure. The deadline to indicate your departure date is December 6, 2021.

Students with a departure conflict who cannot meet the Sunday, December 19 closing deadline may request a one night late departure via the housing portal.

Limited Winter Break housing ($1225) and a Winter Break meal plan ($675) are available to students who cannot travel home during this time.  If you require housing during break (December 19, 2021–January 18, 2022), please complete an application in the housing portal. The deadline to apply is December 6, 2021.  Please be aware that residents needing winter break housing will be housed in consolidated accommodations in select halls on North Campus.

Residents of HILC, Loving House, and the Veteran House, where the communities are open for winter break, should complete the application as well to notify us of your plans.  

We will have more information on what you need to do before leaving for break, including removing all trash and recycling from your room, and unplugging all appliances, in the coming weeks. Keep in mind that facilities staff members will be conducting safety/maintenance inspections of all residential rooms during the semester break, and any prohibited items will be confiscated.

The residence halls reopen on Tuesday, January 18 at 9:00am. We will be requesting you sign up for a move-in time slot, and will have more information in the coming weeks. Meal plan dining and BRBs resume with lunch on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
