Beyond the First Week

Utilize These Resources

Dedicated faculty and staff are here for you throughout your first year on campus including:

Getting to know these individuals will help you to make the most of your Cornell experience. If you live on campus, reach out to staff affiliated with your residence hall, who may include house professor-deans, residence hall directors, faculty in residence, faculty fellows, house fellows, and resident advisors (RAs).

Tatkon Center for New Students

The Tatkon Center for New Students provides programming to help all new students explore Cornell and make the most of your academic experience.

Join us for signature events like the Tatkon Block Party and CU Downtown which occur in your first six weeks here.

Non-Traditional Students

Cornell welcomes a diverse group of non-traditional students each August. While non-traditional students may choose not to participate in some optional orientation events, many academic and social orientation programs will be of value in discovering resources and peers on campus.

The campus resources above, including the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives and the Office of the Dean of Students, offer a useful introduction to Cornell and the opportunity to meet non-traditional students who have carved out their own unique pathways on campus.

If you have questions about your undergraduate status and relevant resources, contact New Student Programs.
