Have you ever been to an event, meeting, interview or activity where you were expected to engage but didn’t know how or where to start? Connecting with total strangers (especially about careers) and initiating a conversation can be nerve-wracking and feel awkward. In this workshop we will explore the why behind connecting with others and identify challenges you might face (e.g. anxiety, nerves, etc.), and provide you with tips and resources for navigating talking to strangers in a new way.

The ILR Alumni Association and HR Rising present an energetic and interactive workshop where 3 ILRies that have worked for LinkedIn share the inside scoop on how to set up your LinkedIn profile for maximum impact to promote your personal brand. Jordan Berman '95, ILRAA President, facilitates the session, which opens with Neeraj Jaisinghani '19 delivering a presentation on how to "Rock Your Profile" with tips on adding photos/videos, updating work experience, sharing your skills, and leveraging advanced functionality to build your credibility and create content that establishes your professional voice. Marissa Morrison '13 then shares LinkedIn best practices from an HR and recruiting perspective, followed by Dan Zinn '08 on leveraging LinkedIn for networking and relationship building. The workshop concludes with a rapid-fire Q&A session.
