Veda Kamaraju
Computer Science; 2026
Hi everyone! I'm Veda Kam, a sophomore majoring in CS. I'm originally from the Bay Area, California, and my research interests encompass the intersection of healthcare and technology. Specifically, I'm pursuing research on algorithms for biomedical image analysis, disease diagnosis, as well as precision medicine digital tools. On campus, I'm involved in Cornell DEBUT, the Biomedical Engineering Project Team, SPICMACAY, the South Asian classical music group, and LCL, the entrepreneurship accelerator. vsk32@cornell.edu
Claire Kim
Biological Sciences: 2025
Research Description: Currently, I’m involved in the Cheong Lab, studying ART (Assisted Reproductive Technologies) alongside my independent research project on improving embryo cryo tolerance via exosome supplementation. This research would continue the lab’s current efforts to understand how select chemicals can improve embryonic cryo tolerance and advance our interests in cryopreservation as well. Outside of research, I enjoy trying new coffee drinks and playing tennis with friends! cyk36@cornell.edu
Amerdeep Passananti
ILR: 2025
Amerdeep Passananti is a junior studying Industrial and Labor Relations with minors in history and business. He is from Los Angeles, California, where his research interests began when studying the effect of toxic chemicals under low-income housing developments. He has continued this research under the Rawlings program, focusing on the intersection of real estate development and public policy. On campus, he is also involved in the Humanities Scholars Program, the Cornell Real Estate Club, a business fraternity, and he models for the Cornell Store. ap844@cornell.edu
Rowan Lopez
Biological Sciences: 2026
Hello! My name's Rowan and I'm a rising junior majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Classical Civilization and American Indian and Indigenous Studies. I'm from Dallas, TX and my research interests include the conservation, genetics and evolution of marine organisms. Currently, I am an undergraduate researcher with the Babonis Lab, where I study the characterization of stinging cells in closely related sea anemones along with the unique structures that house these cells. On campus I am also involved with the Cornell Raptor Program, the Biology Scholars Program, the College and Career Readiness Initiative and T.A.N.G.O. gnl7@cornell.edu
Adithya (Adi) Prabakaran
Biomedical Engineering: 2025
Hi! My name’s Adi and I’m studying biomedical engineering graduating in 2025. My research in the Butcher Laboratory in BME involves studying the role of biomineralization affects calcific aortic valve disease progression, and I’m also working to understand the role of valve endothelial cells in increasing tissue stiffness and calcific nodule formation. Outside of research, I’m on Cornell iGEM (if my shirt doesn’t give it away already), I’m an ambassador for the College of Engineering and I play on the club squash team. ap767@cornell.edu
Jordan Velte
Applied Economics and Management: 2027
I am Jordan Velte, a current freshman in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. Originally from Germany, I was dual-enrolled at the University of Hamburg alongside my high school studies and collaborated with the Technical University of Munich in behavioral economics. This project focused on analyzing the efficiency of cap-and-trade carbon emission trading systems and modeled micro-trading climate clubs on a local scale. Currently, I am a Research Assistant for Professor Lawrence Jin at the SC Johnson College of Business, working on a project in behavioral finance. This project aims at identifying and analyzing biases exhibited by various AI platforms. Moreover, it investigates the broad implications of these AI biases on human behavior and economic activities. In my free time, I like to read and play the piano with my friends. jv462@cornell.edu
