Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation Newsletter and Conversation Series

Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation

Welcome to the Cornell Family! Whether you're new to Cornell or embarking on another Big Red journey with us, your student's new college experience will be exciting and challenging as they learn to navigate their new environment. Our Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation Newsletter and Conversations will provide valuable information throughout the summer to assist you in helping your student prepare to attend Cornell.

The Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation Newsletter will be distributed every other week from late May to early August 2025. All newsletters will be linked on this page after they are distributed. Topics will include housing and dining, student billing and logistics, health and wellness, academic success, and more.

Additionally, we will host our Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation Conversations throughout the summer. These live virtual sessions will provide opportunities for families to learn more about key on-campus offices and services that support your student. All conversations will be recorded and made available within 1-2 business days of each session.

Are you the parent or family member of a new student, and are you not receiving our emails? You can sign up or update your information to receive our communications to families on our Cornell Family Contact form (you will need your student's netid). Also, please ask your student to confirm your information on their New Student To Do List.
