Campus Community Response Team
Cornell's Community Response Team (CRT) is a person-centered, trauma-informed alternative response unit serving all students, faculty, staff, guests, visitors, and unaffiliated community members on Cornell’s Ithaca campus.
The CRT is housed within the Division of Public Safety and is activated by contacting Public Safety Communications at 607-255-1111.
The team serves to de-escalate and stabilize crisis situations, provide immediate, in-person support, and facilitate connection to on and off campus resources.
CRT’s Alternative Response Model
The CRT’s inclusion within the Division of Public Safety provides a non-law enforcement first responder option for non-violent emergency crisis calls and situations where immediate mental health and well-being support is needed. The CRT assists with a variety of concerns, from stressors related to academics or adjustment to university life to mental and behavioral health crises.
The CRT collaborates with Cornell’s established support infrastructure including Student and Campus Life, Cornell Health, and Workforce Wellbeing to ensure the continuity of care for those we serve.
Ways to Connect
Beginning November 17th, 2025, the CRT will be available Monday through Friday between 11:00am and 11:00pm.
