Welcome to the social hub of West Campus!

The Noyes Community Recreation Center provides a variety of recreation programming for students living on and around West Campus. Students from residential houses, fraternities, sororities, co-ops, program houses and off-campus apartments can work out in the Fitness Center, study or simply hang out with friends in the Lounge, play games and attend other events. Noyes Community Recreation Center is open to the entire Cornell Community.

Effective Year Round - Noyes Indoor Court requires all patrons (spectators included) to carry in and display a separate pair of clean, dry athletic shoes to change into when on the court. This is for the safety of the patrons and care for the court.

Building Hours

Please note that access to the building will be prohibited ten (10) minutes prior to closing for building staff to perform closing procedures. Hours are subject to change due to University holidays and activities as well as emergency and related events.

Informal Recreation Court Hours

Informal Recreation refers to the open availability of Basketball, Badminton, or Volleyball. Participants must follow all Informal Recreation policies and please note that the Court is not available for reservation by any Cornell or non-Cornell entity with the exception of the President's Office and Recreational Services. Reservations found outside of those offices listed with be halted and are subject to additional involvement from Cornell University.

Noyes Equipment Issue Desk

The Noyes Issue Desk is located directly in front of the entrance to the building from the ground floor. An Issue Desk employee is always present in the building during operating hours. If they're not available at the Issue Room during your arrival, please wait for their return. At the Issue Desk, you can request general information or checkout equipment to use until the end of the day. Some affiliation or time restrictions may apply. Equipment Checkout & Rentals

Note: The Noyes Service Desk will be unstaffed: Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. While unstaffed, the Noyes Court and equipment checkout will be unavailable.

The facilities offered at Noyes include:

Multi-Purpose Room

The MPR divides into two rooms or be used as a large space. This room is primarily used for group fitness classes such as Spinning, Barre, Yoga, TRX, ZUMBA and more. NOTE: This room is restricted to Physical Education and Group Exercise Fitness class use only.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center includes a variety of cardio and strength equipment. For a full description of the facility, please view the Noyes Fitness Center Information.

Lounges

Noyes has three (3) lounge area with RedRover Wireless, flat screen televisions, media screens, and areas to relax, study or hang out with friends.  The lower lounge also serves as a game room with table tennis and board games for checkout.

Jansen's Market

Jansen's Market is a full-service convenience store located on the 1st floor of the NCRC, serving Starbucks drip and espresso coffee, bubble tea, smoothies, frozen yogurt, fresh soup, sushi and a fresh made to order sub station. The store also carries groceries, snacks, bottled beverages, refrigerated and frozen foods, health and beauty products, and more. Hours of operation during the academic year are:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:00am - 12:50am
  • Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am - 12:50am

CornellCard, Big Red Bucks, and Meal Plan payments are accepted. Please note that Jansen's staff begins closing procedures ten minutes prior to closing (12:50am). No new orders or in-store purchases will occur, it will be pick-up only. Building closing procedures will begin at 12:50am, please let the Noyes IR staff if you placed an order for pick-up prior to 1:00am closing.

The state of the art wood flooring offers one Court designed for Basketball, Volleyball or Badminton. 

Bouldering Wall

The Bouldering Wall at Noyes has been stripped of all climbing holds and will be unusable for a undetermined length of time due to the new staffing necessities at the Noyes Service Desk. Please visit the Lindseth Climbing Center instead at Bartels Hall!

At 30 feet long and 13 feet high at the tallest point, this state of the art wall will give students a chance to practice their climbing skills. For more information on climbing policies, please visit: coe.cornell.edu/climbing.

Outdoor Basketball Court

This venue will give students the opportunity to enjoy Basketball in the outdoors. The facility is also a great place for outdoor performances and other special events with its amphitheater style seating.
