Kath Fenzel
Kath Fenzel is the Director of Housing Operations & Administration at Cornell University. She provides leadership in the strategic development, implementation, and assessment of Cornell’s comprehensive housing program and residential experience for approximately 9,200 residential undergraduate and graduate students. Kath oversees all housing operations, including occupancy planning, as well as all off-campus housing services, providing guidance and resources for those navigating off-campus housing options. In her role as Director, she also has fiscal responsibility for Housing & Residential Life by participating in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue oversight.
Kath graduated from Cornell (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), and before ultimately returning to Ithaca, she was the Director of Sales Operations at Ripken Baseball in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to that, Kath held program development positions at US Lacrosse and Strang Cancer Prevention Center. Kath returned to Cornell in 2009, and in her role as Associate Director of Athletics, she managed the revenue-generating aspects of the department, which included athletic ticketing, camp programming, sports marketing, and golf course membership operations.
Cornell has been like a home to Kath throughout many points of her life, and she is deeply committed to helping students find their own sense of home and belonging here.
Outside of work, Kath is often at one of her daughter’s many sporting events. Together they can be found on trail runs with their dog, snowboarding, enjoying time at the lake, or taking in as many Baltimore Orioles games as possible.
