Joel Harter
Associate Dean of Students and Director of Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making and Cornell United Religious Work
Joel Harter (he/him) is the Director of the Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making (OSMM) and convenes the multifaith team of affiliated chaplains and spiritual leaders who form Cornell United Religious Work (CURW). Joel is a progressive Christian, a welcoming and LGBTQ+ affirming American Baptist, and a certified teacher with the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults. Joel has graduate degrees in literature and religion from Northwestern University, Harvard Divinity School, and the University of Chicago.
Joel has a passion for supporting the spiritual wellness of students, both religious and nonreligious, wherever they are on their personal journey.
