ACE encourages showing appreciation to others by both managers and peers using multiple forms of appreciation designed to recognize staff consistently across the division.
ACE Stands for:
A = All Around Appreciation
C = Cause for Celebration
E = Extraordinary Effort
All Around Appreciation is most often used for staff to recognize each other. ACEd It! Note cards and decals can be exchanged to share a brief note of gratitude that often reflects a timely observation of one living our SCL Values (Inclusivity, Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration, Empowerment, Innovation, Fun). These swift actions are often the most impactful ones.
Cause for Celebration is most often used by managers to recognize individuals or their entire team for a job well done. Examples of these rewards include dining meal tickets, group activities, tickets to athletic contests, even discounts on massages.
Extraordinary Effort is a bonus program to reward an individual that has achieved a substantial result. Download the nomination form below.

Obtaining ACE Recognition Items
Certain items should be ordered in bulk annually or at the beginning of each semester. Bulk items include: Thank You cards, decals, Athletics tickets, bowling coupons, Cornell Store coupons, Cornell Dining coupons, and Amazon Points. Managers should fill out the order form and send to their finance manager. See attached Word document.

ACE Thank You Decals – Decals have the ACE logo on them, and there is one version for every SCL Value. Order in sets of 8.
Tickets to most Athletics sporting events are available for managers to give to staff and one guest as a form of recognition (Wrestling and Men’s Hockey excluded). To obtain tickets for the event of your choice, please review game schedule and contact your unit Finance Manager.
One free round of bowling at Helen Newman are available for managers to give to their team as group recognition. To obtain a certificate for a free round of bowling, please contact Bill Larock at wls6@cornell.edu.

Golf
Discounted rounds of golf at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course are available for managers to give to up to four people (SCL staff members or SCL staff members and their guests) as a form of recognition.
