Cornell Resources

Cornell Votes

Cornell Votes is your hub for the 2024 election, capitalizing on recent surges in student voting. With college turnout rising from 53% in 2016 to 66% in 2020, we're aiming higher: 90% registration and 80% voting rates among eligible Cornell voters. Our goal is to amplify Cornell's voice in democracy, building on nationwide momentum in student civic engagement.

Let's Meditate Plus

One-time meditation programs for student & staff groups

Are you a department, club, or program interested in partnering with Let’s Meditate? We can provide:

A one-hour "Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation" program with didactic and experiential components
• A 30-minute guided mindfulness meditation practice specifically for your group
• A 30- to 60-minute meditative activity that engages the senses and invites present moment awareness through coloring, nature, music, or somatic techniques

Email Emily Dunuwila at ed545@cornell.edu to discuss the best option for your group.

EARS (Empathy, Assistance & Referral Service)

EARS workshops are free, led by EARS staff members, and intended to teach topics related to empathy, mental health, and effective communication. Workshops can be held in person, via Zoom, or in a hybrid fashion. EARS offers the following topics for workshops:

• Introduction to EARS and its Services
• Introduction to Empathy
• Active Listening
• Additional EARS Skills (e.g., Attitudes & Attending Behaviors, Probes, Validation)
• Case Studies (tailored to the group)

The EARS Peer Mentoring program provides one-on-one peer support for those currently enrolled at Cornell, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Peer Mentors support students through informal conversations on topics common to the student experience (e.g., adjusting to college/grad school, stress, social connections, identity, and belonging) and help get students connected to relevant well-being campus and community resources.

CAPS (Counseling & Psychological Services)

Consider attending a CAPS Workshop on managing anxiety, especially during election season. These are free and available online. You can also make a CAPS access appointment to discuss clinical support one-on-one or drop into a "Let's Talk" session to chat with a Cornell Health counselor, either in person or via Zoom. These sessions provide a space to share your concerns informally.

For more emotional and social support, visit Mental Health at Cornell.

Community Programs

The Einhorn Center has launched its Online Community-Engaged Learning Courses for Staff and Faculty members. The student version of the Online Courses is also available. This effort is in partnership with eCornell. All community-engaged learning online courses are available for free to the Cornell community.
