Graduate School

Graduate study has become increasingly important to society in recent years. More college graduates than ever are going on for graduate and professional degrees because of their value in the marketplace and because fields are becoming so specialized that graduate study is essential.

A primary purpose of graduate education is to add to existing knowledge through intellectual creativity and research. Graduate education serves society's needs in technical and professional ways, and provides a major source of intellectual leaders of society.

To learn more about graduate study, plan to attend Cornell's annual Professional and Graduate School Day. Health related programs and Graduate and Professional Schools representing a wide range of fields will be represented. Admissions officers will talk with you about their schools and specific programs, discuss admissions criteria and the application process, and answer your questions. They will also distribute materials.
