Student Assembly Dining Committee
The Dining Services Committee of Cornell's Student Assembly works to represent student interests in the Cornell food system. The Chair works with the Director of Cornell Dining to select relevant administrators and staff to be present at meetings. Members collectively review the policies and initiatives of Cornell Dining, and make recommendations to Student Assembly and Dining leadership for improving existing policies or integrating new ideas. The committee consists of at least one faculty member, two Dining student workers and/or Dining Student Sustainability Coordinators, one graduate/professional student, and additional undergraduate students. Additionally, the Director of Dining (or a designee) and the Budget Director of Dining shall serve ex-officio. The chair shall be elected by the Assembly.
The Student Assembly Dining Committee has advocated for and helped bring to fruition:
- Availability of nutrition and allergen information for retail eateries
- An improved reusable beverage rewards program to incentivize use of reusable mugs
- An option to pre-order to-go meals in exchange for a meal swipe
- A new primary coffee vendor for Cornell Dining's cafés and coffee shops
