Sustainability
Sustainability and Environmental Development jobs can take a wide variety of forms, in both the skills used and the industry where they are performed. If you care about the environment and longevity of the planet, there are a lot of different ways you can contribute. A few examples include:
- Research
- Policy development or advocacy
- Energy development
- Environmental conservation
- Engineering
- Health and safety analysis
- Program implementation
- Education
- Insurance
- Corporate environmental law
Degrees and skills/experience required depend largely on what avenue you pursue. You may need a law degree or masters in public policy, or a bachelor’s degree may be sufficient. You don’t need to major in environmental science, as long as you can demonstrate a commitment to the larger cause/purpose of the organization.
