Responsible Coffee Sourcing

Since 2002, Cornell Dining has provided Fair Trade coffee in all of our dining roomscafes, food courts, and coffee houses. Fair Trade guarantees a set price to coffee growers, enabling them to implement sustainable farming practices, become more self-sufficient and less vulnerable to market price fluctuations, and improve the quality of life in their communities.

To provide Fair Trade coffee, Cornell Dining partners with a local community businesses Copper Horse Coffee and Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters, as well as Sun Coffee Roasters, Mighty Leaf, Tazo, Teavana, Numi Tea, and Peet's Coffee. Cornell Dining's cafés are staffed entirely by Cornell employees, including student staff and union members, not by corporate staff.

Cornell Dining sells reusable stainless steel coffee mugs in our coffee houses and cafés. The initial purchase also includes the first beverage. We welcome the use of reusable mugs.
