PE 1134 Bahamas Scuba Trip

Applications for PE 1134 Spring 2024 will be available on Canvas in mid-October.

Leave your books behind and join the Cornell Scuba Program on Blackbeard's Cruises over break for a little rest and relaxation aboard a 65 ft. sloop."Why should I take a liveaboard diving vacation?" you may ask yourself. First of all, it’s in the middle of winter and what better way to spend those cold days than sailing in the warm, tropical Bahama Islands. Second, it’s inexpensive! For approximately $2100.00/person, you get a week's worth of room and board, sunbathing, snorkeling, exploring, endless diving in great visibility, all diving equipment, and hotel/transfers (does not include flights). Still not convinced? How would you like diving all day for 5 days in an area with truly some of the finest sites in the world? Miles and miles of reefs inhabited with abundant marine life. Sharks, eagle rays, moray eels and dolphins. How about a hike on a deserted beach or being greeted on the shore by iguanas. Try taking the wheel with the captain at your side or taking a hand at the sails or swinging off the halyard into the water. The biggest decision you will have to make all day is what swim suit to wear. Of course one of the best reasons is that you can get a full semester's worth of PE credit in just one week of warm sunny weather. What makes this vacation different from others? Besides, the all-inclusive price, you are in charge of what you want to do. Choose to dive or snorkel, go beachcombing, or stay aboard and soak up the rays and relax. Other advantages of a liveaboard include the ability to go to many remote dive sites not normally available to a land based operations and to move to better areas when weather conditions are not favorable. Spaces are limited so please visit Canvas for further details.
